Solotel is ushering Rozelle local The Sackville into a new era, unveiling a full-scale renovation that reimagines the street bar, refreshes the interiors, and introduces new outdoor seating and a sports bar.
At the heart of the pub, the main bar has been refreshed with a warm, comfortable feel, including new furniture and lighting. The enhanced layout makes the most of the venue’s prime corner position with big street-facing windows, high tables and booths, while outside, tables line Darling Street, connecting directly to the bar.
Another key component of the offering is the purpose-built sports bar, designed as a local hub for Wests Tigers supporters and more. Complete with expansive screens, TAB facilities and a dedicated bar, the space caters to all sports fans and fixtures.
Elliot Solomon, CEO of Solotel, stated: “The Sackville has always been a cornerstone of Rozelle, a place where the community comes together for a drink, a chat, and a laugh. The renovation has given the pub new life, especially the front bar which now opens right out onto Darling Street. It feels brighter, welcoming, and perfectly in step with the neighbourhood.

“We’ve created a space that’s designed for the changing face of Rozelle and Balmain – where people can pop in for a beer, catch the game, or settle in for an afternoon that rolls into the night with family and friends. It’s still the Sacky everyone loves, just with a fresh new energy and a cracking new menu.”
As part of the transformation, Solotel has closed the doors to French-style bistro Chez blue, which was previously housed within the pub. The drive-through bottle shop, however, remains, now providing more convenience with a Click & Collect service.
With the restaurant component now removed, The Sackville’s food and beverage offering has also been refreshed. The menu centres around everything from share-friendly snacks and lighter seasonal dishes such as raw tuna and burrata, through to beloved pub classics, including premium steaks from the grill and crispy eggplant parmigiana.
On the drinks front, vibrant cocktails like the Blackberry Royale and frozen Pina Colada are complemented by more than a dozen taps pouring craft and classic beers and an extensive wine selection.
The Sackville will mark its reopening with a week of celebrations from Tuesday 4 to Sunday 9 November, with drinks specials and complimentary happy hour snacks.
