The Australian Hotel in McGrath’s Hill has been sold for the first time in its 131-year history, having been bought from long-term owner operator Kim Maguire by prominent Sydney-based hotelier Warren Livingstone in an off-market sale by JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group.

The hotel was built by the Maguire family in 1891 and has remained in the family since its construction. The pub sits on over 6000sqm on the border of Windsor, inside the North West Priority Growth Area, and only 6kms from Vineyard Hotel which sold for $68m in 2021.

The venue includes a public bar, large dining area, indoor gaming room with 10 machines, popular drive-through bottleshop, beer garden, 8 well-appointed accommodation rooms and significant off-street parking.

JLL congratulated Livingstone and his Highclere Hospitality team on its latest acquisition, while also thanking Maguire for allowing the firm to take her through the process of selling this family jewel.

The sale comes on the back of other key deal by JLL including the Lord Stanley in East Brisbane as well as the New Ivanhoe Hotel and Bar Broadway in Greater Sydney. In addition JLL is working on the sale of the iconic Sydney hotel The Oaks.
