Yarrawonga’s The Landmark had a successful night last week at the 2021 Hospitality NT Aristocrat Technologies Awards for Excellence, taking home Best Overall Metro Pub and a host of other awards.

In addition to winning one of the Northern Territory’s most coveted hospitality awards, The Landmark also received Outstanding Hotel Community Service & Achievement and Best Sporting Entertainment Venue.

The Landmark is a family owned and operated venue with three brothers Justin, Michael and Tony Coleman at the helm.

“We were absolutely honoured to win this award, which is the highest accolade in the NT for pubs. The first five months trade of this year has been solid and tracking in line with 2019 which is a remarkable result given the events of the past 12 months,” The Landmark co-owner Justin Coleman said.

“Staff have been over the moon – it’s a well deserved reward for all their hard work. We simply have the most loyal, friendly and dedicated team at Landmark, this award is really for them.

“It was such a privilege to receive the community service award, which really goes to the heart of our team. Being a third generation Territory family, it has always been our philosophy that if you support your community, your community will support you back, and to see that same philosophy coming through in our Landmark team makes me particularly proud.”

Hospitality NT CEO Alex Bruce said the night was a success with individual awards highlighting the strength of the industry in the last 12 months.

“The hospitality industry is a service industry, so we have always relied on our dedicated staff. This year, this statement has never been more important, as hospitality businesses are asking more of their staff than they ever have,” Bruce said.

“The individuals recognised in this year’s Awards for Excellence employee categories are fantastic role models for people who may be considering a career in the hospitality industry.

“During a challenging last 12 months, it was great to see re-investment made into venues and properties, with the ‘Best Redeveloped’ categories all very competitive, with some outstanding looking results.”

A total of 45 trophies were award at the event, held on 19 May, which saw 500 industry representatives gather on the lawns of the Mindil Beach Casino.

Best Overall Regional Pub/Tavern was awarded to the Gap View Hotel, which also took home Best Retail Liquor Outlet and Best Outdoor Area.
