Global drinks company Australian Vintage has launched Tempus One, a collection of sparkling Prosecco-based wine spritzers available in can format.
Responding to the continued growth of the RTD category, with almost two thirds of 18- to 24-year-olds having consumed RTDs in the last 12 months, the new release blends Australian Prosecco, soda and fruit flavours.
With the wine category experiencing a steady decline among Gen Z and Millennials, Australian Vintage hopes that the RTD format of its new wine spritz will resonate with a younger generation of drinkers.
Tom Dusseldorp, Chief Marketing Officer at Australian Vintage, commented on the new release.
“Tempus One is an exciting new venture which will operate alongside its older sister, Tempus Two. Where Tempus Two provides discerning wine drinkers with an elegant, crafted choice, Tempus One breaks the wine rules.
“Younger generations are promiscuous drinkers, looking for refreshing, lighter alcohol options and aesthetics. The launch of Tempus One will provide young Aussies with a unique, full-flavoured Prosecco-based RTD.”
At one standard drink, Tempus One is an approachable RTD with a sessionable ABV of four per cent. With just 38 calories per 100ml, the spritz provides a lighter option. Priced at $25 RRP for a four pack, Tempus One is available in three flavours, watermelon, berry and passionfruit.
The new RTD will launch in selected Ritchies Liquor Stores across Australia’s East Coast from Sunday 15 October, before being rolled out to other stores and regions in early 2024.
As part of its launch, Tempus One will be poured at festivals across the country over summer in partnership with Live Nation, targeting its key audience of Gen Z and Millennials.
