Bacardi Lion has thrown its hat into the growing ready-to-serve arena, launching two Bacardi-based cocktails into the category.

The Bacardi Classic Cocktails range features a Bacardi Pina Colada and Bacardi Mojito, which will be in direct competition with the Smirnoff Ready-To-Serve cocktail range launched in late 2009.

Bacardi brand manager, Alex Merry, said the new range is expected to be a hit with consumers seeking a quality cocktail they can enjoy at home with minimum effort.

“Bacardi Classic Cocktails are sure to be a popular addition to the cocktail enthusiast or home entertainer’s repertoire this summer. The Mojito and Pina Colada rate in the top five cocktails consumed by Australians in the on-premise and now, you don’t have to be a professional bartender or know all the professional secrets to make them yourself,” said Merry.

“It takes you no longer than seven seconds to prepare and enjoy the taste of these popular cocktails making them the perfect solution when hosting or attending a party, picnic or summer gathering. All you have to do is open the bottle and pour into a glass over ice.”

The Bacardi Classic Cocktails range will be supported in-store by a new suite of POS, along with a promotion offering consumers the chance to escape the winter cold and win a fully catered sailing adventure in the Whitsundays for themselves and five friends this summer.

Bacardi Classic Mojito and Bacardi Classic Pina Colada are available in a 750-ml size bottle and have an RRP of $24.99.
