When venues across Australia where closed down to help slow the spread of COVID-19, Bacardi-Martini Australia launched the #RaiseYourSpirits platform to support the hospitality industry through the crisis.
The initiative initially offered bartenders financial advice sessions to help navigate the government’s support initiatives. Additionally Raise Your Spirits is lobbying for more hospitality support from the government and is also providing venue vouchers for Bacardi staff and trade customers.
The program of advice sessions is continuing next month with the second round focusing on ‘Back to Work’ Skills.
National Brand Ambassador Peter Hollands will be joined by current and ex-bartenders to host sessions covering three topics:
- Monday June 15, 4pm – Looking for Work in Hospo
- Monday June 22, 4pm – How to Cost a Cocktail Menu
- Monday June 29, 4pm – How to do a Tax Return
“Bacardi is a family company, and for us, business is personal. We always say that love for our brands is built in bars, and now it is our turn to show them our love,” said Mahesh Madhavan, CEO of Bacardi Limited.
“We don’t have all the answers today on how best to help everywhere, but we are committed to do what we can to see our industry through this crisis. These may be the darkest of days for bars and restaurants, but I am certain that when we come out on the other side, people will emerge from isolation with a renewed zest to live life to the fullest and celebrate together with friends and family.”
These sessions will be streamed live on Facebook, with the link provided on local bartender pages.
