Boilermaker House and Gage Roads will team up for the Australian Drinks Festival Bar Safari. Melbourne’s home of whisky and beer matches will be offering a Single Fin Boilermaker – a handle of Single Fin Summer Ale (275ml) and a Jameson Whiskey.
Single Fin is “more refreshing than a face full of Freo Doctor”, the beer is brewed with sun-drenched summer days in mind – it’s light-bodied and chock full of aromatic Galaxy and Enigma hops for a big tropical fruit bowl aroma that is balanced by a subtle bitterness and a clean finish. And it’s the perfect match for the classic Irish style of whiskey that is Jameson.
There is plenty more happening for the Bar Safari as well. Some of the other bars participating in the Bar Safari discounted cocktail scheme include Loch & Key, 1806, Harley House and Cookie (also home to an amazing craft beer selection).
The Safari runs from Saturday 2nd July to Friday 15th July inclusive in the lead-up to the festival (16-17 July). You can pick up a copy of the Bar Safari passport at participating bars.
For those after some more beer and cider action, there will be free tastings at the Australian Drinks Festival event from Gage Roads, Verrano Cider, Apple Thief Cider, Batlow Cider, Capital Brewing Co, Southern Bay Brewing, and The Hills Cider Co, while The Australian Brewery is teaming up with Bacardi’s innovative new spiced rum, Fuego.
Speaking of spirits, there are plenty of rum and whisky exhibitors attending the festival. Including: Campari with its premium bourbon range, Beam-Suntory is putting together a Bourbon Legend stand, Stolen Rum is in attendance, Monkey Shoulder is showcasing it’s World’s Smallest Bar, JP Wiser’s Canadian Whisky is on show, Mt Uncle Distillery (makers of The Big Black Cock Single Malt Single Barrel Whisky) will be there, and Nip of Courage will be showcasing a range of Aussie distillers’ rums, and much more.
