Bridge Road Brewers will open its third venue at Melbourne Airport’s T1 terminal on Tuesday, 4 February,, as the brewery looks to expand its hospitality to travellers visiting the city.

Co-Owner Ben Kraus said the brewery looks to engage a new audience with the latest space.

“This venue represents a new chapter for us, a chance to bring the authentic Bridge Road Brewers experience to a broader and more diverse audience,” he said.

“We’re proud to partner with Delaware North, a family-owned leader in the hospitality space, to make this happen. Together we’ll create a space that celebrates great beer and warm service while introducing Bridge Road to travellers from around Australia.”

General Manager, Ella Metcalf told The Shout that the latest airport venue is the next step in the evolution and legacy of Bridge Road Brewery.

“It allows us to connect with travellers that perhaps have not visited our existing venues, sharing a taste of Beechworth’s craft beer in an airport lounge environment,” she said.

“This strategic move not only aligns with our values of independence and passion but also cements our commitment to innovation and accessibility, ensuring Bridge Road Brewers remains a significant name in the craft beer industry for years to come.”

The venue will have a range of the brewery’s signature beers available on tap plus a ‘High-Country’ inspired menu. Metcalf gave an exclusive look into what visitors can expect on offer.

“Our menu offers a unique blend of hearty and fresh options to satisfy every traveller. Enjoy Maria’s handmade pretzels reimagined as delicious toasties, alongside our traditional pizzas, seasonal salads, and sourdough crumpets served with local Beechworth Honey,” she told The Shout

“On the drinks side, we proudly feature our flagship beers, including Pale Ale, Outsider Lager, Little Hazy, and a rotating IPA, as well as Freetime, our popular non-alcoholic beer.”

The brewery worked closely with hospitality and food service management, Delaware North, as well as Melbourne venue architects, Studio Y who had previously worked on Bridge Road’s brew-pub in Brunswick East.

Metcalf says the third space will continue the Bridge Road culture that it offers across its other venues, with curated music and a welcoming environment for its visitors.

“Across all of our venues, we will offer a great range of unique brews crafted at our Beechworth HQ,” Metcalf said

“Merchandise will be available for purchase, and we plan to introduce takeaway beer soon. The curated music and cultural atmosphere will reflect the vibrant and welcoming vibe we’re known for at all our venues, ensuring a consistent and memorable Bridge Road experience.”

What differs from the other venues is that the Melbourne Airport brewery will have a ‘grab-and-go’ food offering. This ensures travellers who are unable to dine are still able to enjoy the Bridge Road experience with its take-away options available.
