One of Australia’s most innovative wine producers, Victoria’s Brown Brothers, is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and has announced a bigger focus on classic varietals.
Managing director, Ross Brown, said that 2014 will see the winery turn its focus to traditional varietals while still maintaining its drive for innovation based on shopper insights.
“Bringing new ideas to market, for both product and category development, based on consumer insights will again be our focus. Pushing the boundaries and doing things differently while maintaining consumer trust in our brand is critical,” said Brown.
“While innovation has driven our success in recent years, this year will be an opportunity to reappraise our classic wine styles that truly reflect our 125 years of passionate winemaking.”
Brown also said that the winery’s Tasmanian portfolio was performing well.
“The acceptance of our Tasmanian brands, especially Devil’s Corner, has been amazing. Clearly ‘Brand Tasmania’ has a lot of powerful consumer cues that, when combined with Pinot Noir, has contributed significantly to this year’s success.”
