The Bundaberg Distillery Company is hosting its bi-annual "Spirit of Bundaberg Festival" on Saturday 9 May at the distillery's grounds. It is free entry to the public with the gates opening at 10am.
To kick-off the festivities the Bundaberg Rum’s Master Distillers’ Collection will release the latest blend for 2015. The 2015 Blenders Edition is a limited run and comes in numbered bottles.
This year's rum is described as "a complex blend layered with delicate hints of raisins, spice and tobacco, coupled with a long and exceptionally smooth finish". All blends will be available for purchase on the day and a pre-purchase is available online prior to the event.
An exclusive to the festival is local Galatia Nana’s Pantry’s custom range of gelato using Bundaberg Rum Royal Liqueur. Flavours include Bundaberg Coffee & Chocolate and the new Bundaberg Banana and Toffee gelato.
The festival will also include an array of activities from food stalls, cocktail classes, craft beer and a variety of Bundaberg distillery products. There will also be a range of live music acts showcased throughout the day.
"The Spirit of Bundaberg Festival is our way of paying back to the community and we want to deliver a unique music line-up that engages music fans from all genres,” senior brand manager for Bundaberg Rum, Duncan Littler said. The live music will be headlined by Australian rock legends You Am I.
