A unique all-female flair bartending team was launched in Sydney last week at the Eastern’s Ruby Lounge in Bondi Junction.

Known as the The Black Book Service, the team consists of four women who perform sexy burlesque-style routines whilst mixing cocktails.

“We came up with the idea at the end of last year when we realised that Sydney didn’t have anything like this,” said The Black Book Service performer, Eve Vega. “We’re a mobile service, in that we can be can be hired for launches or events. Even though we only launched last week, we’re already taking bookings.”

The Black Book Service team generally performs four 30-second routine to songs such as ‘Paradise City’ by Guns N’ Roses. “We’ve got about 10 routines rehearsed at the moment but with enough notice we can pretty much do anything,” Vega said, who has worked in several top Sydney bars, including ivy, Will & Toby’s and Ruby Rabbit.

The group have been trained and led by bartender Ben Martin, who has over 12 years flair and bartending experience.

The group will be performing short shows at the Ruby Lounge at midnight on Wednesdays for the next month.
