Calabria Family Wines has released the latest addition to its Bélena wine range, Bélena Prosecco.
Established in 2021, the Bélena range pays homage to Bill and Lena Calabria, second generation owners of the Calabria family business. The range’s quality and eye-catching packaging has proven popular with consumers, and Calabria states Bélena is the second fastest growing wine brand in the Australian market.
Tasting notes for Bélena Prosecco describe aromas of green apple and citrus, with a palate of crunchy apples and lemon zest. Calabria suggests pairing it with fresh seafood, particularly lobster. It has an RRP of $20, presenting a budget-friendly option for fans of the category and new entrants.
Prosecco is a promising varietal for the Australian wine industry, with sparkling wine growing ahead of the overall wine category, both in volume and in value. Wine Australia’s 2024 Australian Wine Market Insights report indicated a 20 per cent volume and 17 per cent value increase for sparkling wine over the 2023 vintage, primarily driven by Prosecco.
Elizabeth Calabria-Staltare, of the Calabria family, welcomes the addition to the range.
“We are excited to be expanding the Bélena wine collection, entering into the thriving Prosecco category, with an easy drinking Prosecco that will attract those looking for a more affordable sparkling alternative,” she said.
Calabria is offering customers the chance to customise their bottles, with personalised labels available for the Bélena range when purchased through the Calabria website.
