California Wines has announced it will be hosting its first-ever Australian tastings, bringing the Golden State to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this autumn.
The tour, which is hosted in partnership with leading importers, aims to showcase the diversity, regionality and price of Californian wines to the Australian trade.
Hiro Tejima, Joint Regional Director of North Asia & Australasia at California Wines said: “To unlock California wine’s potential in the Australian market, our priority is to solidify the relationships with our distribution partners and their customers.
“We are thrilled to take a step in that direction – to be together and discover – or for some, rediscover – California, the Golden State of Wine, through messaging and education which we believe will evoke excitement. We can’t wait to welcome many colleagues from the local beverage and hospitality sector at each of our events.”
The wines on showcase will include Ridge, Shafer, Hirsch, Au Bon Climat, Tablas Creek and Kendall-Jackson just to name a few and also feature new-to-market wines from the California Wine Export Program member wineries.
In addition to sampling wines, attendees in each city will also have the option to register for one of the masterclasses by award-winning wine educator, Elaine Chukan Brown.
The tour dates are:
- Brisbane: Tuesday 29 April at the Emporium Hotel South Bank from 1pm – 5pm
- Melbourne: Wednesday 30 April at the Glasshouse from 1pm – 4pm
- Sydney: Thursday 1 May at 12-micron from 1pm – 5pm
