Chivas Regal introduced new expression, Extra, to the world market, in Australia, on Monday night at a gathering of media and trade at a luxury private home at Sydney’s Darling Point.
The first new Chivas Regal blend in almost 10 years, the company claims Extra as one of the richest, most generous offerings this category has presented. Extra presents a selection of rare whiskies matured in a higher proportion of sherry casks blended by Chivas Regal’s Master Blender, Colin Scott, who was present at the launch to explain the process to guests.
“Chivas Regal Extra is an exceptional blend of specially selected whiskies built on a rich foundation of malts that have been matured in a higher proportion of sherry casks,” said Scott.
“This process delivers a profound depth of flavor and a Whisky that showcases the character of this unique blend, taking it to a whole new level.’’
“Chivas Regal Extra…brings the signature richness and warmth of Chivas Regal with additional layers of subtle spice.
"Fruity and sweet on the nose, its enchanting aroma of ripe pears and melon, creamy toffee and milk chocolate, balanced with cinnamon and a hint of ginger is crafted to truly excite the senses.

In Australia to launch the new expression was American actor and Chivas Regal brand ambassador, Chris Noth, who joined guests at the whisky tasting and dinner, created by Sydney restaurant 4Fourteen.
