To celebrate the season première of its latest show in Queensland, travelling international circus, Cirque du Soleil, has opened up a cocktail competition open to all Southeast Queensland bartenders.
Drawing from the idea that certain cocktails encapsulate elements of popular culture, like the James Bond and the Dry Martini, or the Cosmopolitan and Sex and the City, the competition asks bartenders to create a cocktail that represents Dralion, their latest production.
Dralion is a mix of ancient Chinese circus tradition and the avant-garde approach of Cirque du Soleil, deriving much of its inspiration from Eastern philosophy.
Entries will be judged based on originality and imagination of the cocktail, as well as the recipe, taste and name.
First prize is a ‘Tapis Rouge VIP Dralion Opening Night’ experience and entries close Friday November 21.
