There’s a new beer available after Coopers crowned its inaugural Master of the Brewniverse, from a selection of home brewers.
Chris Woods and his Fruit of the Woods IPA has won the competition, with his fruit-forward India Pale Ale, which is described as “bursting with tropical and citrus aromas from the generous use of new world hops”.
“I love all things beer, looking at it, smelling, tasting and talking about it to anyone who’ll listen, and of course the art of brewing it,” said Woods.
In reward for brewing the winning beer, Woods’ winning recipe was brewed and canned at Coopers Brewery and will hit the shelves of Dan Murphy’s nationally from mid-May.
“While there were many extremely good beers at the nationals, Wood’s was a standout. It is a great representation of an IPA which features five hop varieties, oats and honey, and, most importantly, it is very drinkable,” said Dave Medlyn, Technical Brewer, Coopers Brewery.
Emma Craggs, Brand Manager, Coopers Brewery, added: “We’re launching this winning brew at a strange time when you can’t get to your local for a pint. The beauty of Coopers DIY Beer is that anyone can have a go and we hope that Chris’ win may inspire other beer lovers to take up this (very rewarding) hobby.”
