Coopers Brewery has celebrated the release of its 25th Vintage Ale by crafting a beer full of spice, zest and with an international twist.
Coopers Chief Brewer and fifth generation family member Dr Tim Cooper has overseen the making of every Vintage Ale and says the 25th seasonal release is worthy of celebration.
“When we brought out the first Coopers Vintage Ale all those years ago we never suspected it would become such a highly anticipated annual release,” Dr Cooper said.
“Each year our brewing team looks to go one better. The bar keeps getting raised and we all truly relish the challenge. We’re confident we’ve come up with a brew that’s unique and fitting for this special 25th annual release.”
In its bid to go one better this year, the brewing team has used to hop varieties from across the ditch. The beer features Southern Cross hops, which bring the lemon zest and spicy notes, while Peacharine hops deliver stone fruit aromas.
The result is a that Coopers describe as having “sweet fruit, peach, citrus, pine and spicy characters to feature on the palate”, which is balanced out “by malt sweetness before finishing with a firm bitterness”.
Dr Cooper said: “Vintage Ale is perfect to drink upon purchase or can be cellared to allow the hop characters to soften and the malty characters to develop over time.
“And with Father’s Day approaching, this great tasting ale makes for the perfect gift for Dad.”
To celebrate the launch of the 25th annual release of Vintage Ale, Coopers Brewery has enlisted the help of Australian swimming legend Kyle Chalmers OAM. Born and bred in SA just like Coopers, Kyle features in a video campaign reflecting on his own ‘vintage performance’ 2016 Olympic gold medal swim, with a 2016 and 2025 Vintage Ale by his side.
With an ABV of 7.5 per cent, Coopers 2025 Vintage Ale is now available in 50L kegs and 355ml bottles in South Australia and from Thursday, 7 August nationally.
