Social distancing is a crucial mechanism to help slow the spread of coronavirus in Australia, and to help with the concept in its stores Endeavour Drinks is installing protective plexiglass screen at over 1500 Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores.
“We commissioned three factories to make the screens, so we could get them done as quickly as possible. The first screens have already been installed, and our plan is that all stores will have them installed before Easter. All stores also have floor markings around registers to help customers maintain social distancing,” Steve Donohue, Managing Director of Endeavour Drinks said.
“We know it’s not always easy to maintain social distancing, which is why we decided to install the screens as an additional safeguard for our team members and customers. These changes are in addition to a suite of measures we have taken to reduce the exposure of our team members and customers,” he added.
Other measures in place across the store network include each store has a reduced maximum capacity of customers who can be inside the store at once, and a limit on the number of customers who can be inside cool rooms. When maximum customer count is reached, a one in one out rule applies and stores are also encouraging customers to pay with card instead of cash wherever possible.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and our team is of paramount importance, which is why we have been rapidly rolling out a range of new measures to help maintain public and team safety across our brands,” Donohue said.
“It has been a challenging time for all of us, and we want to thank our customers for the understanding and the respect that they are showing our team members and delivery drivers as we work through this together.”
