Coca-Cola Amatil executive David Halliday has resigned to take up a new role at Diageo Australia.
A CCA spokesperson confirmed Halliday's resignation as director – leisure & on premise, effective July 27.
Diageo Australia confirmed he will join the company as commercial director on Monday August 5.
"David has significant experience across all major channels, both in the UK and Australia, and will bring strong leadership to our commercial team," a Diageo spokesperson said.
"His time working as director – leisure & on premise, for Coca-Cola Amatil along with his in-depth knowledge and understanding of the beverage industry made him the perfect fit for Diageo Australia."
CCA said in a statement that it expects to fill Halliday's position shortly. In the interim his role will be assumed by CCA executive Mark Filmer.
CCA managing director of Australian Beverages, John Murphy said: "We would like to thank David for his great work and leadership and his representation of the beverage industry in a number of forums. We wish him well for the future in his career in a broader commercial role in Asia."
