De Bortoli Wines has launched Woodfired, a full-bodied Shiraz from Heathcote and the first wine to be released under the company's new brand identity, which was announced last month.
The crown from the former De Bortoli branding was retained as a reminder of the past, alongside a contemporary new look. The refreshed branding will be gradually rolled out to De Bortoli's existing wine portfolio.
De Bortoli Woodfired Heathcote Shiraz 2015 is 14.5 per cent ABV and has an RRP of $24.85. It will be available at leading independent liquor retailers.
Chief winemaker Steve Webber said: “Our goal has been to develop a full-bodied, texturally mouth filling red wine that is plump, fruit driven and seriously good for washing down chargrilled ribeye.”
De Bortoli selected parcels of fruit from Northern Heathcote’s Chinaman’s Bend, Corop and Colbinabbin areas.
“We think we’ve made a cracking wine and it’s not just us who thinks so… even before De Bortoli Woodfired was launched it won a gold medal at the 2016 Heathcote Wine Show.”
