The deadline to enter the 2025 Wine Communicator Awards, which this year will recognise excellence in wine communication across 13 categories, has been extended.

The Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) said with this being such a busy time of year and with flu season upon us, it would extended the deadline for submissions until Friday, 22 August.

This year’s award categories are split into four areas: categories suitable for wineries, wine brand owners, wine regions, marketing agencies; categories ideal for wine writers, reviewers, journalists, bloggers and influencers; categories perfect for design agencies, wineries, retailers, distributors, sommeliers, and categories aimed at students, wine academies, universities, and educators.

The awards for wineries, brand owners etc are:

  • Best Winery Website
  • Best Wine-themed Event
  • Best Social Media Communication
  • Best Wine Communicator: Cellar Door
  • Best Wine Communicator: Marketing
  • Best Australian Wine Communications Campaign

The awards for journalists and writers etc are:

  • Best Published Feature Article or Wine Column
  • Best Wine Book
  • Best Digital Communication

The awards for retailers and distributors etc are:

  • Best Innovative Packaging
  • Best Wine Communicator: Sales

The awards for students and educators etc are:

  • Best Wine Education Provider
  • Best Wine Student

The winners across all 13 Award categories, plus the overall 2025 Wine Communicator of the Year will be announced on the evening of Thursday 6th November 2025 at the WCA’s Awards Night at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney.
