Leading global platform for local commerce, DoorDash, has announced its has reached an agreement to acquire hospitality technology and software provider, SevenRooms.
US stock market analyst Quiver Quantitive is reporting the deal is worth US$1.2bn.
The acquisition will see a significant expansion the capabilities of the DoorDash platform, with the group saying it will equip merchants around the world with new tools that will help them to grow in-house and delivery sales as well as increase profitability and build stronger customer relationships.
Vice President, Strategy and Operations at DoorDash, Parisa Sadrzadeh said: “We’re enhancing the DoorDash Commerce Platform to help merchants serve their customers across all channels.
“With SevenRooms, we’re excited to give local businesses around the globe new ways to bring more guests in the door, build and grow direct relationships with their customers, access best-in-class CRM, and drive profitability through smarter marketing.”
In becoming part of DoorDash, SevenRooms will now have greater global reach and access to expanded resources which will see its innovation roadmap accelerated to help build more value for merchants.
SevenRooms was founded in 2011 by Joel Montaniel, Allison Page and Kinesh Patel and offers a leading customer relationship management platform, helping venues to improve guest relationships while also streamlining operations and driving revenue growth.

In its statement on the deal DoorDash said the acquisition is part of its broader strategy of empowering local businesses to foster stronger connections with customers through an engaging digital presence.
