Monteith’s Winter Ale Returns
Released again for the winter season, Monteith’s Doppelbock Winter Ale has been described as ideal for banishing the cold.
It has been brewed in the traditional German style, with a dense head, powerful aroma and chocolate, malty notes.
Drinkworks marketing director Craig Blesson expects winter beers to be even more popular this year on the back of considerable growth in the craft beer segment.
The Doppelbock Winter Ale is a six malt brew using four specialty malts along with Amber and Pilsener malt to create a rich flavoured beer that pours with a characteristic red hue, typical of a winter’s fire.
With a 6% ABV, it is moderately hopped with local varieties of the famous German Hallertauer hop to balance the full malty characters.
