DrinkWise Australia has named John Scott as its new chief executive officer, just weeks after Neil Comrie AO was named as the organisation's new chair.
A former DrinkWise non-executive director and chair of its social marketing committee, Scott has a strong background in major policy development and communications initiatives for government and non-government organisations.
He also played an instrumental role in the research behind the launch of DrinkWise Australia's 'Kids Absorb Your Drinking' campaign, resulting in an award from the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
"The board is pleased to have John as the chief executive officer of DrinkWise," said Neil Comrie.
"Together with his significant professional contributions across public health, community, government and corporate sectors, he brings a wealth of strategic research and business skills to our organization."
John Scott is the official replacement for former CEO, 'Oarsome Foursome' Olympian Mike McKay, who departed the role in September last year.
Former Victorian Police Commissioner, Neil Comrie recently replaced the Hon. Trish Worth as chair of the board for DrinkWise Australia.
"I am honoured to be appointed chair of the board of DrinkWise Australia. DrinkWise represents a unique opportunity for industry and the community to play a key role in tackling the misuse of alcohol in Australian society," he said.
"DrinkWise Australia is known for its ground breaking social marketing initiatives, designed to raise awareness of the influence of parents in promoting a safe and responsible drinking culture."
