Entries are open for the 2024 Wine Communicator Awards, which aim to recognise outstanding contributions to wine communication, across several areas.

This year the Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) has added two new categories to its awards, with the addition of Best Social Media Communication and Best Innovation Packaging. The two new categories brings the total number of awards on offer to 11.

In a statement about the new awards, the WCA said: [The new awards] help us celebrate the diverse contributions made to the wine industry across a number of different communication categories and channels.

“We have also worked on the judging criteria to make the competition fairer to all applicants and to emphasise measurable results wherever possible.”

This year’s awards categories are:

  • Best Wine Marketing Communications Campaign
  • Best Digital Communication
  • Best Social Media Communication
  • Best Published Feature Article or Wine Column
  • Best Innovative Packaging
  • Best Wine Book
  • Best Winery Website
  • Best Wine-themed Event
  • Best Wine Communicator – Cellar Door
  • Best Wine Education Provider
  • Best Wine Student

In each category, applications are reviewed and a short list of finalists is selected by a panel of expert judges. A category winner is then chosen in consultation with the WCA Board.

Entries close on 31 July, with full details on the awards and how to apply, available through the 2024 Wine Communicator Awards website.
