Finlandia Vodka has broken a major milestone by moving three million nine-litre cases of the luxury spirit last year.

Launched in 1971, Finlandia took 23 years to move one million annual cases and another 12 years to move two million cases. The most recent milestone was reached in only three years, making Finlandia one of the fastest growing global spirits in the world.

Finlandia’s most significant growth has been in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in Russia, where it is the leading imported Vodka by volume, with 169,000 cases sold annually.

“Russians know their vodka, and Finlandia is now the number one imported premium vodka in Russia,” said Finlandia brand manager – Australia, Rob Maker. Added Blaine Rowlette, his European counterpart: “Being the top-selling imported premium vodka in Poland and Russia speaks well for the quality of Finlandia Vodka as Eastern Europeans are well known for their appreciation of fine vodkas.”

Maker said Finlandia was also enjoying “solid sales growth” both on- and off-premise in Australia, most notably for its Grapefruit flavoured variant.

Finlandia Vodka distributed globally by Brown-Forman.
