First Choice has launched a new delivery service, which offers online consumers evening and Saturday delivery in metro areas.
The new service will offer same day deliveries with orders made by midday to be delivered by 5pm; weekday evening orders submitted before 2pm to be delivered between 5pm and 9pm on the same day; next day deliveries ordered by midnight to be delivered by 5pm the following day and Saturday deliveries between 9am and 5pm on orders made by midnight on Friday.
Grant Enders, general manager for the liquor direct service, said: “When you’re ordering for a last-minute get-together, you don’t want to wait days for your order to arrive. With this new service, our customers can have their orders delivered within a matter of hours using same day and evening delivery – or choose from the convenience of next day and Saturday deliveries.
“Flat rate delivery means customers will pay the same low prices for delivery every time they order online, whether they are buying one bottle or restocking the cellar with a couple of dozen.
“What makes this really exciting is that online customers can choose from the same extensive product range and great value prices as in-store at First Choice with delivery options to suit them.”
First Choice has also revamped its standard delivery service, introducing a flat rate fee of $6.95 and speeding up the delivery time in metro areas from 3-7 business days to 2-5 business days.
The new delivery options are available to customers in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra.
Meanwhile Coles have denied speculation that it is planning to either sell or close its First Choice chain. A spokesperson for Coles told TheShout: "Alongside Liquor Land and Vintage Cellars, First Choice remains a vital part of our liquor business.”
