Premium Barossa Valley winery Fox Gordon has discontinued its relationship with Vine Street Imports in the UK and signed a distribution contract with HwCg Wine & Beverage.
Fox Gordon is a premium label specialising in single-variety reds founded by former Barossa Valley Estate winemaker Natasha Mooney and friends in 2001.
“We have been selling our wines in the UK for a number of years now, primarily through Oddbins,” Mooney said. “HwCg will enable us to take the next step with regard to growing distribution and reaching consumers via the independent and multiple specialist trade.”
But Fox Gordon co-owner Sam Atkins said the company’s growth in terms of volume would remain small. “We are not about growing rapidly. We produced about 10,000 cases in last year’s vintage and are looking at growing that by 1200 to 1500 cases in 2008,” Atkins said, adding that about 40 per cent of volume was slated for export.
Vine Street Imports will continue to distribute Fox Gordon wines in the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and the US.
