Yealands’ Seaview vineyard is the most coastal vineyard in New Zealand and this unique location supports high quality growing conditions. With strong coastal winds, low rainfall, high sunshine and cool nights, the vineyard produces fruit of intense distinctive varietal character.
Yealands wines have been awarded over 300 wine medals since their first vintage in 2008. The ultimate recognition was received at the 2012 International Wine Challenge with the Yealands Estate Single Block S1 Sauvignon Blanc 2011 winning the International Sauvignon Blanc Trophy and also the trophy for the best white wine from Marlborough.
Along with the focus on wine quality is the emphasis on sustainable wine production. Yealands was the world’s first winery to have been carboNZero certified since its formation and also the first winery to be built under the green building code. Recognition for excellence in sustainability has also been given with the award for the world’s Most Sustainable (medium) Business at the 2012 International Green Awards.
