Tapped Productions has officially unveiled The Tap Truck, a fully automated mobile bar, which the founders describe as “a groundbreaking innovation” which aims to re-think the bar infrastructure at large-scale events.
The Tap Truck is the result of three years of planning, drawing on extensive industry experience. It is co-directed by seasoned Gold Coast hospitality operator Peter Thompson – known for his work on Fisherman’s Wharf Tavern, The Envy Hotel, and Mermaid Beach Tavern – alongside his daughter, Lauren Thompson, whose background includes managing bar operations at major festivals such as Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival.
“After more than a decade working in this industry, it’s been heartbreaking to watch the festivals we love disappear,” said Lauren.
“This innovation is fuelled by both passion and practicality – a smarter way to serve events.”
The Tap Truck is a 12-tonne mobile unit with integrated refrigeration, mechanical dispensing, POS technology, and remote management systems. It holds over 4,500 cans, and can be stocked and serving drinks chilled below two degrees in under two hours.
Peter said: “We’ve built The Tap Truck as an all-in-one solution.
“It’s fast, efficient, and built for scale – ready to meet the realities of modern event delivery.”
Following three years of development and testing, The Tap Truck will have its official operational debut this weekend at Supercars Ipswich, before touring to New South Wales, Victoria.
“It’s tested. It’s engineered. And it’s ready,” said Lauren. “We’re excited to support the future of events with a new, scalable solution.”
