Pernod Ricard Australia has revealed that G.H. Mumm is bringing a troupe of dancers from Moulin Rouge, the iconic cabaret house in Paris, to the 2013 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The 16 Moulin Rouge dancers will perform several times on each race day of the carnival in the La Maison G.H. Mumm marquee.

Internationally acclaimed model, Pia Miller, will be the 2013 G.H. Mumm marquee ambassador, and will introduce the Moulin Rouge performances each day.

The La Maison G.H. Mumm marquee will also feature a French menu designed by chef Mark Best of the two hatted Marque restaurant in Sydney, comprising dishes matched to the G.H. Mumm Champagne range.

Also in attendance will be G.H. Mumm fashion ambassador, designer Johanna Johnson, and Sony music artist Samantha Jade, who will perform in the marquee on Derby and Cup Day.

“We expect 12,000 bottles of G.H. Mumm Champagne to be consumed across the precinct this year which is an astounding 84,000 glasses across the four race days,” said Pernod Ricard Australia managing director Julien Hemard.

”Our continued association as the Official Champagne Sponsor of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, has seen the demand for G.H. Mumm reach unprecedented levels and we have shipped in our very finest cuvees from France to keep up with demand.”

2006 G.H. Mumm Millesime arrives

Also this week, G.H. Mumm launched its 2006 Millesime cuvee onto the Australian market, as foreshadowed by the recent visit of chef de cave Didier Mariotti.

“This is a vintage really reflecting our style, with aromas and flavours that are both complex and unusual,” Mariotti said.

The 2006 Millesime is widely available in major and independent retailers with a RRP of $94.99.
