Global Gaming Women (GGW) has recognised Australian Hotels Association (Vic) executive Kimberley Malcolm with the Patty Becker Pay it Forward Award, one of the organisation’s highest honours.
The award is named after Patty Becker, a pioneer in advancing women in the gaming sector, and is presented to individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment by volunteering their time, expertise and resources to support women in the industry.
Malcolm, General Manager of Member Experience & Compliance at AHA (Vic), was acknowledged for her leadership in fostering inclusivity and empowering women across gaming.
“Seeing the development of Global Women Gaming in Australia, and the passion of the growing cohort of women in this industry, has been a rewarding experience,” Malcolm said.
“Gaming has historically been predominately a space for men, but through the work of countless women, we’re changing the face of what gaming is – and what it represents. Just playing a role in empowering women to pursue a vibrant, rich career in gaming brings me a lot of pride, and to be acknowledged in this way is an honour.”
AHA (Vic) President David Canny welcomed the recognition: “Being acknowledged by an international organisation such as Global Gaming Women not only validates the direction AHA Vic is moving in but also reinforces our position as a forward-thinking, people-first employer.
“Kimberley Malcolm lives her values through an unmatched determination and passion for uplifting women in our industry – this recognition is more than deserved, and speaking on behalf of all members, we couldn’t be prouder.”
