House Made Hospitality has unveiled the two remaining spaces in its multi-venue precinct at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, opening the terrace bar Wentworth Bar alongside Vietnamese-French restaurant Delta Rue.
Designed to emulate a tropical sanctuary among the cityscape, 250-capacity indoor-outdoor venue Wentworth Bar is dotted with sun-drenched nooks and seating to suit laid-back dining, from low sling chairs and terrazzo tables to green micro-cement high tables, with a large glass and copper canopy overhead.
Jason Williams, House Made Hospitality Director, says: “It’s the kind of bar you’d seek out in any major city – DJ playing, great cocktails, and the buzz of a city rooftop bar but spread across a spacious 495sqm all-weather outdoor terrace.”
Sitting on level five of the building, Wentworth Bar showcases an expansive spirit collection, including more than 45 types of agave, resulting in a vibrant cocktail menu and a wine list that pays homage to the French influence of neighbourhing restaurant Delta Rue.
Playful in his approach to the cocktail list, Williams balances easy-drinking single serve cocktails with large-format party cocktails, which, priced from $220, include 12 serves with options such as Tai Chi Mumma (Ketel One Vodka, rosé, Prosecco, raspberry, lemon and lychee) and Strawberry Yuzu Spritz (white wine, herbal aperitif, yuzu, mango, passionfruit and grapefruit).
Standout single serve cocktails include That Lush Slush, comprising Husk Coconut Rum, seasonal sorbet, tonka bean and Prosecco, and Slipper-y When Wet, a blend of Los Arcos Tequila, Chell-Oh! Yuzucello, Midori Melon, fresh lime and mint.
In accompaniment to the vibrant drinks offering, guests can expect to find a concise all-day food menu spearheaded by precinct Executive Chef Elliott Pinn and Delta Rue Head Chef Phot Arnupapdecha.
Short but considered, highlights from the menu include smaller plates such as oyster mushroom spring rolls and chicken wings, a choice of noodles and salads, through to larger plates including the Wentworth smashburger, spiced barramundi curry and rump cap.
Later in spring, House Made Hospitality will also launch two new venues in Redfern’s Wunderlich Lane precinct, Island Radio eating house and noodle bar and cocktail tavern Baptist Street Rec. Club.
