Husk partners with Proof & Company

Husk Distillers has entered into a strategic partnership with independent distributors, Proof & Company, which will see Husk’s range of spirits join the Proof portfolio in markets across APAC.

Proof & Company says its mission it to elevate its portfolio with a local lens, and Husk’s ‘farm to bottle’ philosophy from Tumbulgum in Northern New South Wales fits that mission.

Damian Kaehler, General Manager of Proof & Company ANZ, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Husk Distillers and cannot wait to bring their incredible portfolio to our markets across APAC. As someone who grew up in the Tweed Valley, mere steps away from the distillery, this place holds profound significance for me with fond memories of the region’s vibrant sugar cane production, it’s such a special place.

“Paul and Mandy have built two amazing brands in Ink Gin and Husk Rum, both representing the very best of the local area and we can’t wait to cultivate their story in our markets. Their ethos tightly aligns to ours, with independent craft distilling and sustainability, from paddock to bottle, the introduction of their portfolio into the ecoSPIRITS program will further support this mission.”

From May 1, Proof & Company will serve as the exclusive distributor for Husk Distillers’ range of spirits, including Australian sipping rums and Ink Gin. This collaboration capitalises on Proof & Company’s network and brand building capabilities, complemented by Husk Distillers’ commitment to excellence and innovation in craft spirit distilling.

“Starting life in a small shed at Husk Farm in 2012 it took more than three years before we were ready to offer our first bottles of Ink Gin for sale in July 2015,” Paul Messenger, Husk Distiller Owner said.

“Later that year we released our first barrel of Husk Rum. Since then, we’ve sold over a million bottles of rum and gin and now, after almost nine years distributing our own brands, we are thrilled to be partnering with Proof & Company to share our story and our liquid, enriching consumer experiences and elevating social occasions across the country.

“We are very impressed with the Proof & Company team and business model, and we share a passion and belief that together we can make great things happen.”

Proof & Company has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Auckland and Christchurch and currently manages the exclusive distribution of a portfolio of independent spirits, craft cocktails ingredients, and premium bar tools and glassware.
