Applejack Hospitality has opened the doors of its latest venture with Rafi restaurant and bar now open at the new Urbnsurf facility at the Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush.

Rafi is a namesake to its sister hatted restaurant in North Sydney, with the new venue offering a rooftop terrace and huge retractable windows overlooking the Urbnsurf lagoon, making it a go-to destination for surfers and non-surfers alike.

Ben Carroll Applejack Co-Owner & Director, said: “We’re thrilled to finally announce the opening of Rafi Urbnsurf, the second site for our iconic hatted restaurant in North Sydney.

“Led by Chef Matias Cillóniz, our menu celebrates local produce and sustainability, and Rafi Urbnsurf Sydney offers a premium dining experience, blending sophistication with a coastal feel. With our casual eatery Sandy’s downstairs, we can offer guests at Urbnsurf Sydney every dining experience they require, be it a quick snack between surf breaks, a long luxurious lunch, evening cocktails, corporate event or a special dinner.”

The destination cocktail menu, led by Rafi Bar Manager Cameron Freno, will showcase closed-loop sustainability, offering unique and theatrical serves such as the Sub-Zero Oyster Martini and Sub-Zero burnt butter and pecan Old Fashioned.

Rafi North Sydney’s most popular drink since inception is the Fragola Fizz, which will get a revamp at Homebush by using the strawberry leaves of participating venues, while the Sonoma croissants from downstairs casual eatery Sandy’s will be used for an eccentric take on the famous beachside tiki cocktail, the Mai Tai. The wine-list will feature global wine icons and famous Champagne houses.
