Last night, media professionals and influencers gathered at Surry Hills restaurant Itō to celebrate the launch of Suntory Bar, an exclusive one-week takeover designed to highlight Suntory’s rich history and Japanese drinks culture.

Visitors to the Suntory Bar pop-up, which is now open to the public until Sunday 17 November, will enjoy a bespoke four-course menu produced in collaboration with Itō Executive Chef Erik Ortolani and guest chef Khanh Nguyen of King Clarence.

The menu showcases four specially curated Suntory cocktails paired with modern Japanese dishes such as royal red prawn and nori roll with sweet and sour miso mustard; and chawanmushi with roasted chicken, Suntory Whisky, spanner crab, sweetcorn and brown butter.

We’re thrilled to be able to showcase the very best of Suntory’s unparalleled craftsmanship through this exclusive experience.”

Ortolani added: “When we opened Itō, we wanted to showcase unique and exciting dishes that are respectfully created as the Japanese crafted them. For this reason, we couldn’t have been more excited when Suntory approached us to create this epic celebration inspired by Japan’s rich food and drink culture. We’re proud to be partnering with Khanh to bring their legacy and innovation to Sydneysiders in our week-long menu.”
