Jim Beam continues to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia through an online auction that will see Jim Beam Racing’s driver, James Courtney, put his specially-commissioned Jim Beam racing helmet up for grabs to the highest bidder.
Made exclusively for this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, Courtney’s helmet is a priceless piece of V8 Supercar history that is expected to raise over $10,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
If the auction does reach the $10,000 mark, Jim Beam will fly in the winner for an exclusive meeting with James Courtney where he will present the winner with the one-of-a-kind helmet.
All proceeds raised from the auction will go towards funding prostate cancer research, following a one-off donation from Jim Beam to the foundation last year that totaled $100,000.
“Jim Beam and Jim Beam Racing are both iconic brands that are cherished by Australian men, and we felt an opportunity for the brand and our fans to support prostate cancer research through an ongoing partnership,” said Kel Constantine, sponsorships and events manager at Beam Global Australia.
“We are expecting significant support from our Jim Beam and V8 Supercar loyalists as we know they will be proud of our association with the Prostate Cancer Foundation.”
This is the first time that James Courtney has auctioned off his Jim Beam Racing gear for charity, and he is proud to be able to support such a worthy cause.
“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Australia, with 20,000 men diagnosed each year. I feel honoured to be able to use my position in the Jim Beam Racing team to not only raise funds for such an important charity, but also awareness of its services and the need for more Australian’s to help,” he said.
