Beam Suntory’s Knob Creek won the title of Best Bourbon at the San Francisco World Spirits awards earlier this month. The bourbon earned a Double Gold medal after out-rating other bourbons with a 95.
Shane Richardson, CCA’s managing director of alcohol and coffee, said: “Our vision for 2015 is to be Australia’s beverage supplier of choice by offering our customers the most innovative and high-quality solution for every beverage occasion.
"Clearly, our powerful brand portfolio is a crucial element of this.We have the most exciting portfolio of premium whiskeys and Knob Creek’s latest accolade continues to demonstrate the quality of brands our team has to offer."
Knob Creek is from CCA’s Alcohol and Coffee portfolio, from which two other brands were also recognised. Jim Beam (Devil’s Cut and Distiller’s Masterpiece Bourbon, both Double Gold medal winners) and Laphroaig (25 Years Old Scotch Whisky, Gold Medal winner) also received recognition after the blind tasting competitions.
“We are very proud that the quality of our premium portfolio has been recognised with the Director’s Award of Excellence in just our first full year as Beam Suntory,” said Matt Shattock, Chairman and CEO of Beam Suntory.
Beam Suntory is the world’s third largest premium spirits company, and is distributed in Australia by Coca-Cola Amatil.
