Penfolds has announced a series of leadership changes within its ANZ business as Simon O’Donnell moves from his role as Sales Director ANZ, into the global position as Director of Commercial Strategy and Planning.
The leadership changes within the Penfolds business will also see Brooke Godfrey succeed O’Donnell in the role of Sales Director ANZ, following a three-month secondment into the position while O’Donnell was on parental leave across 2023 and 2024.
Speaking about the changes, Yodi Mootoosamy, General Manager, Penfolds Global Sales, said: “The changes to the team structure are a testament to the growth and success of our commercial division in recent years.
“I have every confidence that under Simon’s leadership, the team will continue to deliver valuable insights to broaden our international presence and avenues for growth, while Brooke’s permanent appointment to the role of Director ANZ Sales will continue to build successful partnerships with our customers locally.”
Penfolds became a standalone division under Treasury Wine Estates in 2021, alongside Treasury Premium Brands and Treasury Americas, and since April 2022, O’Donnell has been instrumental in establishing and leading the Penfolds division in ANZ.
In its statement about the changes, Penfolds said O’Donnell has “an extensive background across trade, and has been the voice of the customer internally to shape Penfolds commercial strategy in ANZ. While in the role, O’Donnell has built long term, successful partnerships across all major Retail, Wholesale & On Premise channels in the region.”
The statement added: “Godfrey brings a wealth of experience in leadership roles, including Penfolds Global Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff.”
