The 14th McWilliam’s Wines Maurice O’Shea Award Dinner will be held in Sydney in November and will coincide with the 2008 Wine Outlook Conference.

Honouring the memory of McWilliam’s winemaker and Mount Pleasant founder, Maurice O’Shea, the biennial award was founded in 1990, with the presentation dinner widely regarded as one of the most prestigious events on the industry’s
calendar.

Every two years, the Maurice O’Shea Award is presented to an individual, brand, association, institute or corporation that has made a historically significant contribution to the Australian wine industry.

The 2008 Wine Industry Outlook Conference will be held the next day at the Australian Technical Park at Eveleigh.

With a theme of ‘striking a sustainable balance’, the conference will cover the importance of working towards a future for the industry. This will include looking at the issues from an environmentally and financially sustainable perspective, while also discussing balance in terms of supply and demand.

The McWilliam’s Wines Maurice O’Shea Award is on at The Westin Hotel Sydney on November 12, with tickets at $240 plus GST per guest.
