Three of the bars within Merivale’s massive multi-million dollar venue ivy will celebrate turning one this week with a lavish birthday party to be held tomorrow night (May 28).
The venue’s VIP Den, Lounge and Lawn bars will host a ‘Big Kids’ themed event, complete with balloons, Twister and a specially-created celebratory cocktail – the ‘ivy Twister’. Made from vanilla, passionfruit, SKYY vodka and a ‘mystery ingredient’, Merivale group bars manager Mike Enright says it promises to be a great event.
“We’ve invited all the (VIP membership) ivy league members,” he said. “We’re expecting about 500 to 600 people, so it’ll be pretty big.”
The ivy complex is Merivale’s biggest project to date and has been slowly unveiled in several stages over the past year. It features a total of 18 bars, nine restaurants, a ballroom with capacity for 1000 people, penthouse suites, European-style laneways and the exclusive rooftop ‘Pool Club’, complete with outdoor swimming pool.
The venue has become a regular haunt for Sydney fashionistas and has hosted a number of glamorous large-scale events, including the launch of Peroni Leggera beer to the global market.
“We’re pretty happy with how each bar has found their own niche,” said Enright.
