The USA’s fastest-growing premium tequila brand has recently rolled out to Australia’s on-premise market with Silver, Reposado and Añejo variants.

Milagro Tequila debuted in Australia late last year, being the fastest growing premium tequila brand in the United States, made from 100 per cent blue agave and hand-harvested in the Jalisco Highlands, Mexico.

Crafted using centuries-old methods of slow-roasting agave piñas for up to 36 hours in traditional brick ovens in combination with modern autoclaves, Milagro Tequila’s success comes from its blend of traditional and modern production methods.

Using two types of stills for a smoother finish, the first pot still distillation captures the fresh, vibrant flavours of the agave plant, while the second still column distillation is used to ‘polish’ the liquid, resulting in a smooth, clean profile.

Milagro’s arrival in Australia comes at a time when global tequila volumes are forecast tooutpace total spirits category growth, debuting its Silver, Reposado and Añejo variants in the on-premise market.

Emily Prochazka, Brand Manager, Milagro at William Grant & Sons Australia, says: “Since 2015, Milagro has averaged double-digit annual growth and reached over 800,000 nine litrecases in annual sales in the US.

“Across the board, data sources are tipping tequila to remain the fastest-growing spirit in Australia over the next five years, and it’s easy to see why.”

CGA data indicates that Silver or Blanco tequila is the most popular base for the Margarita in Australian venues, while the Paloma, traditionally made with Reposado tequila, is one of the fastest growing cocktails globally, positioning Milagro’s premium offering to cater toevolving consumer demand on-premise.

Milagro Silver, Reposado and Añejo are available nationwide to on-premise venues via William Grant & Sons Australia. You can contact your representative on (02) 9409 5100 or wgsa.customerservice@wgrant.com.
