Australian specialty craft beer and liquor merchant, Craft Cartel Liquor, has unveiled the ultimate gift for craft beer lovers – the 100 can case.

The Craft Cartel 100 Can Case comes in a super limited edition custom made timber box, with four beers from 25 Australian breweries, ten $20 vouchers to spend on the Craft Cartel Liquor website and a limited edition poster. It takes two people to carry the 40kg box, and will set customers back $499 which includes delivery to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane metro areas.

Earlier this year, Craft Cartel stocked the Pabst Blue Ribbon 99 Can Carton, which was widely popular and the biggest beer case in the country at the time. This success, coupled with a desire to support the Australian beer industry after an incredibly tough year, helped develop the idea for a bigger local version.

Craft Cartel Liquor’s Affiliate Marketing Manager, Michael Taberner, told National Liquor News they wanted to make it a mixed case, to support more breweries and to help customers explore the sheer breadth of Australia’s independent beer industry.

“The case features 25 independent breweries from all across the country. Rather than picking 100 different types of beer, we decided to feature each beer as a four pack – because nobody wants to come across a beer they really like and be left with just one can!” Taberner said.

“After such a tough year, we think we have found a great opportunity to highlight local breweries. We were really keen to give people a reason to get together, hence the 100 can case. Everyone gets to try a few new styles they might not have come across before, hang out with their mates, and all while supporting local producers.”

Inside the case are a wide variety of breweries and styles of beer. This was also core to how the idea for the case came about, as everyone in the Craft Cartel team had different views of what the ultimate mixed case would be. Like the team, each consumer is on a wide ranging beer discovery journey, so having a case with 100 cans gives ample opportunity for exploration on this level.

Taberner said: “One afternoon in the Craft Cartel office, we were deliberating what our ‘ultimate mixed case’ would be and we couldn’t come to a consensus.

“We all have a favourite brewery and a favourite style and there were so many to choose from and by the time we were done, our own ‘ultimate mixed case’ ended up being a massive list! We whittled it down and still ended up with a list containing 25 breweries… The idea of the 100 can case was born.”

Stock of the Craft Cartel 100 Can Case will be very limited, leading the team to introduce a password protected pre-sale today for those who have registered.
