This week, National Liquor News editor Deborah Jackson, sat down with Paul Esposito, the CEO of Independent Liquor Group (ILG).

In this exclusive chat we hear about ILG’s newly launched digital platform, which was designed with the independent liquor retailer in mind. They understood that what works for one store in one region might not work for another store, so the platform is easily adaptable and gives retailers the autonomy to operate independently.

We find out how ILG’s expansion into Victoria is progressing and can also exclusively reveal that ILG’s premium Fleet Street banner is just about to open its first stores outside of New South Wales.

Esposito also tells us that the biggest priority for ILG at the moment is to recruit new members, as being a member-owned cooperative, he says that is the best way to future proof the business.

“At ILG we’re looking at what we can do to future proof, and by recruiting more and more members that’s going to give our independent retailers longevity. So that’s what our focus is going to be, inviting as many people as we possibly can to join ILG.”
