Nominations for the 2021 Retail Drinks Industry Awards, will be closing this Sunday, 28 February.
The awards are split into retailer and supplier categories: the retailer category recognises the Liquor Store of the Year (<400m2 of retail space), Large Format Liquor Store of the Year (>400m2 of retail space), Online Liquor Retailer of the Year, Liquor Store Owner of the Year, Liquor Store Manager of the Year and Young Liquor Retailer of the Year.
The supplier awards recognise beer, wine, spirits and services suppliers of the year and also the beer, wine and spirits sales representatives of the year.
Retail Drinks CEO, Michael Waters, told The Shout: “Retail Drinks is delighted to be able to run the 2021 Industry Awards program. Each award category has been developed to recognise the success and hard work of people and companies in our industry, and acting as a platform to boost the profile of individuals, businesses and partners.
“We greatly look forward to hosting this year’s Awards Presentation on 19 May 2021 and are excited to acknowledge, recognise and celebrate our great retailers and suppliers who have shown exceptional resilience, particularly in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19 throughout last year.”
Retail Drinks members are invited to nominate for the awards, and it is free to do so, with all those who do nominate then independently ‘mystery shopped’. All nominees will subsequently receive a free copy of their Mystery Shopper Report, normally valued at over $150.
The mystery shopping assesses the complete customer shopping experience, based on key criteria, including: arrival experience & first impressions; store layout & appearance; product ranging & diversification; staff presentation, customer service, product knowledge, selling skills & the sales transaction; responsible service & compliance; and the overall customer experience.
After nominations close on 28 February, the mystery shopping and judging commences before the award finalists are announced in late April with the awards presentation taking place on 19 May 2021.
