National online liquor retailer, MyBottleShop.com.au is in the running to take out one of Australia’s longest-standing business awards programs.

The Optus My Business Awards identifies and acknowledges the achievements of Australia’s best business operators.

MyBottleShop has reached this pinnacle after only three years in business and is now Australia’s fastest growing liquor retailer, with more than 100,000 members and more than 4000 products.

MyBottleShop is the first liquor retailer to become a finalist in the Online Retailer of the Year category at the 2017 Optus My Business Awards, the premier event of the year for SMEs.

Founded in 2014, MyBottleShop offers a full service online liquor experience throughout Australia.

MyBottleShop provides liquor, mixers, glassware and the tools to create an immersive drinks experience at home.

MyBottleShop CEO Steve Rider said: “People often ask me, ‘Hey how many stores do you have?’ and I say 36 million stores Australia wide; with a straight face. There’s over eight million households in Australia and each house has on average eight devices so that’s how I calculate how many shop fronts we have.”

MyBottleShop offers hand-wrapped gifts, digital gift cards, bottle engraving, unique gift packs, two hour Sydney delivery, product reviews, serving suggestions, tasting notes, click and collect, message cards, tasting events, sample bottles, gifts with purchase, online chat and personalised service.

The Optus My Business Awards, which covers 28 categories, acknowledges best practice within a particular industry sector. Winners from all categories will be automatically shortlisted for the highly coveted Business of the Year Award.

Steve Rider, said he was humbled by the nomination but also thanked his staff and suppliers for three years of hard work.

“MyBottleshop’s recognition for its excellent contribution to online liquor retailing reinforces the strength of the MyBottleShop brand in connecting with the community and engaging with its customers,” he said.

The winners will be announced at a black tie awards dinner on Friday, 10 November at The Westin Sydney.
