Food Standards Australia New Zealand has issued a product recall for a number of alcohol products from G J Wholesale.

G J Wholesale are conducting a recall for eight products, which have been available for sale in retail liquor stores in NSW, ACT and Queensland. The recall is due to potential chemical contamination.

The products are:

  • Verushka Vodka
  • Mississippi Bourbon
  • Los Cabos Tequila
  • Yachtsman White Rum
  • Mudgee Rum
  • Barman’s Choice Whiskey
  • Hunter Brandy
  • Her Choice Gin

The 700ml bottles are labelled “Supplied to and bottled in Australia for G J Wholesale.

Food Standards has warned that these products may cause illness if consumed and advises that any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

In its advice to Food Standards, G J Wholesale said: “Customers should return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full cash refund. We apologise for any inconvenience.”

TheShout has contacted G J Wholesale to check what their advice is for retailers and we will publish any comments in that regard.
