Today is Wynnsday and as such sees the launch of the 2019 Wynnsday Collection, which aims to release the very best wines from terra rossa vineyards, from high quality vintages.

This year’s collection features a new Single Vineyard wine, from the O’Deas vineyard, along with 2016 releases of John Riddoch Cabernet and Michael Shiraz alongside the iconic Black Label Cabernet from vintage 2017.

Speaking about the 2019 Wynnsday Collection, Wynns’ Senior Winemaker, Sue Hodder, described it as one of the most exciting releases yet.

“Our 2016 John Riddoch Cabernet and Michael Shiraz continue to be deep selections from our finest parcels. The warmer vintage has created slightly richer wines which are unmistakably ‘Wynns’ in character,” Hodder said.

“We are also thrilled to introduce the O’Deas 03.13, the first single vineyard release from this special vineyard, and to continue the story of Wynns Black Label Cabernet with the 2017 release, the 62nd vintage of this classic Australian Label.”

The 2019 Wynnsday Collection is available from today at fine wine retailers across Australia.

Details on the full 2019 Collection:

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 – RRP $44.99

Wynns Black Label Cabernet is a true icon of Australian wine. First produced in 1954, it has a reputation for ageing gracefully and displaying excellent varietal and regional characteristics. The wine is produced from only the top-quality 20 per cent of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit grown in our terra rossa vineyards.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate O’Deas 3.13 Single Vineyard Red Blend 2016 – RRP $79.99

Wynns is privileged to have some of Coonawarra’s best quality and oldest vineyards. Each year, the Winemakers select just one parcel of wine to bottle separately. In 2016, that vineyard is O’Deas 3.13. This small vineyard has its own personality and we are delighted to bottle this field blend wine from the O’Deas 3.13 vineyard. 3.13 refers to the vineyard size – 3.13 hectares.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Michael Shiraz 2016 – RRP $149.99

Michael Shiraz is Wynns Coonawarra Estate’s best-of-vintage Shiraz and named after David Wynn’s young son. The wine is a legend of the Australian wine story with good examples of the 1955 Michael offering an outstanding experience. The wine is made in small quantities and only exceptional vintages.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 – RRP $149.99

First made in 1982, the John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon is Wynns flagship wine. It is made in small quantities from the best available fruit grown on the estate’s extensive Cabernet Sauvignon plantings in the heart of the terra rossa soil. As definitive Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, John Riddoch is only made when grapes of extraordinarily high quality are available and less than one per cent of the top-quality Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are included in the final wine.
