Tyrrell's has released the latest wines in its Lost Block series, continuing its tradition of showcasing the champion varieties from Australia’s best known regions.
The 2014 Lost Block Sauvignon Blanc (pictured) has moved from Adelaide Hills to Orange, in recognition of the latter region's high altitude, cool climate attributes.
"Being a NSW-based wine company it's easier for our winemakers to keep a closer look over the vineyard but also nice to have another wine in the range hail from NSW," Tyrrell's said.
The 2013 Lost Block Merlot meanwhile has been sourced from Tyrrell's own vineyards on South Australia's Limestone Coast.
"Vintage conditions meant that the vines were not stressed and required little intervention. Merlot was at its typical high quality and the wine has great colour, generous fruit and structure," Tyrrell's said.
"Much to our surprise Lost Block Merlot has become one of the best sellers in the range."
