The team behind Melbourne’s The Red Hummingbird is set to reshape the Melbourne bar scene with the opening of a new bar called The Emerald Peacock this Wednesday (Mar 18).
Located in Lonsdale Street, The Emerald Peacock is billed as a rooftop bar and restaurant, with the expansive recycled timber rooftop described as the “piece de resistance”.
Looking out over the Melbourne city skyline, The Emerald Peacock houses a cocktail bar and two lounges, including a ‘retro dining lounge’ where wood-fired pizzas and tapas are served.
Close attention has been paid to the wine and cocktail lists, with The Emerald Peacock cocktail containing Pisco, Liqueur 43, muddled watermelon, apple and lime juice their signature drink.
The Emerald Peacock spokesperson Sharan Sagoo said they were confident they had created a space unlike any other in Melbourne.
“The challenge was to create a space that worked with the ergonomics and structure of the building and at the same type reflect the cosmopolitan nature of Melbourne,” she said.
“The Emerald Peacock is a collaboration of vintage, uniqueness, recycled elements and lushness, not to mention a to-die-for rooftop.”
